Why Wix?: A Website That Works as Hard as You Do

If you run a local service-based business—whether you're a contractor, landscaper, architect, or consultant—you need a website that works as hard as you do. It should be easy to manage, optimized for local search, and built to turn visitors into customers. That's where Wix stands out.

Wix strikes the right balance between user-friendly tools and creative flexibility. Unlike other platforms that lock you into rigid templates, Wix gives you real design freedom—which is why I use it for my clients.

Why Wix Works for Local Businesses

1. Easy to Use—No Coding Required

Small business owners don't have time to troubleshoot website issues. Wix's drag-and-drop builder makes building and updating a site simple—no coding required.

Not every business owner wants to manage their site alone. Some prefer a professional design with ongoing maintenance, while others like the flexibility to update their site themselves. I build Wix websites to accommodate both needs.

2. Choosing Between Wix Editor and Wix Studio

Wix provides two main platforms: Wix Editor and Wix Studio, each designed for different business requirements.

  • Wix Editor (my preferred platform) is an excellent choice for those who want a user-friendly, intuitive design experience. It offers deep customization and strong SEO capabilities, making it ideal for businesses focused on local search ranking.

  • Wix Studio offers a more advanced design framework with high-end tools, animations, and enhanced tablet optimization. However, compared to Wix Editor, it requires more time for setup and ongoing management.

I help clients choose the right platform based on their priorities, such as SEO, ease of maintenance, or cutting-edge design.

3. SEO Tools to Get Found Online

If your customers can't find you, your website isn't doing its job. Wix includes built-in SEO tools, such as:

  • Customizable page titles and descriptions

  • URL optimization

  • Image alt text

  • Mobile-friendly settings

Wix also connects with Google My Business, helping you appear in local search results and Google Maps.

4. Transparent Pricing

Wix's pricing starts at $17/month for a professional business website, including hosting, security, and core features.

Some premium features require paid apps, but overall, Wix offers a cost-effective solution compared to hiring a developer.

5. Mobile Optimization—A Hands-On Process

With over 80% of web traffic from mobile devices, a site must function smoothly on phones and tablets. Wix provides a mobile editor, but manual adjustments are needed for full optimization. I make sure sites look great and function seamlessly across all devices.

I fine-tune every Wix website for a smooth desktop and mobile experience. I also offer guidance on mobile adjustments if you want more control over updates.

6. Tailored Design—From Templates to Custom Builds

Wix offers both pre-designed templates and fully custom options, giving businesses flexibility.

Whether you want a polished template or a custom-built site, Wix provides the tools to make it happen. While it does support coding, I focus on intuitive design features to create visually compelling, functional websites without unnecessary complexity.

I provide tailored design solutions for businesses looking for a standout website—whether template-based or fully custom—that fits their brand and goals. As a Wix designer, not a developer, I create brand-aligned websites that look great and work smoothly.

Where Wix Falls Short

Wix is a strong choice, but like any platform, it has limits:

  • Not Ideal for Large, Complex Websites – If you need database-heavy functionality or advanced coding, Wix may feel restrictive.

  • Some Features Require Paid Apps – Advanced features like memberships or custom integrations come at an extra cost.

  • Manual Mobile Adjustments – Wix requires hands-on mobile optimization, but this allows for more control.

Many of my clients prefer having me handle these details so they can focus on running their business.

My Approach to Wix

I'm a Wix Partner, but don't accept compensation for promoting the platform. My recommendation comes from experience using Wix to build effective, professional websites for local businesses.

Ultimately, I don't just focus on the platform—I focus on delivering a design experience that helps businesses succeed. Wix happens to be the best tool for that in most cases. If another platform worked better for your needs, I'd tell you.

Should You Use Wix for Your Local Business?

If you need an easy-to-use, affordable website that attracts local customers, Wix is a strong choice. It's flexible, user-friendly, and cost-effective.

But having a website isn't just about choosing a platform—it's about making it work for your business. Whether you need a site built from scratch or help managing an existing one, I can help.

For local service businesses, time is money. Wix helps you make the most of both. If you need assistance, I'm here to help.
